Green light for Engie's Cara well

Engie E&P Norge (Engie) has been given the green light to drill the Cara prospect on production license 636 in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

The exploration well, 36/7-4, will be the first to be drilled on PL636. The well is west of Florø and 6km northeast of the Gjøa field in 348m water depth.

Drilling is due to start in mid-June 2016 at the earliest and estimated to last 66 days using the Transocean Arctic semisubmersible drilling rig operated by Transocean, which was built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan in 1987, and substantially upgraded in 2004.
