China’s CNOOC announced that the Suizhong 36-1 Phase II adjustment project has commenced production.
The Suizhong 36-1 oil field is located in the south region of Liaodong Bay in Bohai in an average water depth of approximately 30m. Four additional platforms will be built as part of this adjustment project.
CNOOC says that the project will further enhance the overall processing capability of the field. The adjustment project is expected to hit peak production in 2014.
Bohai has been identified by CNOOC as its most important area of production. As of the end of 2012, CNOOC reported 1165.9 million boe of reserves, with a daily production volume of 432,285 boe/d, representing approximately 33.4% and 46.2% of the company's total reserves and daily production, respectively.
Suizhong 36-1 is an independent owned and operated by CNOOC.
