Rolls-Royce signed an US$11.5 million (£8 million) contract to supply the mooring system for the world’s largest semisubmersible crane vessel (SSCV), Sleipnir.

The vessel will be built in Singapore by SembCorp Marine for the Dutch company Heerema ƶijϻ Services.
For the Sleipnir, Rolls-Royce will deliver a tailor-made equipment package for specific operations, comprising a 12 point mooring system including electric driven winches, fairleads, wire sheaves and also a control system.
When completed the vessel will be 220m in length, have a width of 102m and a displacement of 273,700-tonne at maximum operational draft. It will be equipped with two cranes of 10,000-tonne lifting capacity each, providing the heavy lifting capacity to install and remove offshore facilities and install subsea structures, foundations, moorings, and floating structures in deep water. The Sleipnir will be self-propelled with a transit speed of 10 knots, and will operate on dual-fuel.
The vessel is scheduled to be delivered from the yard in 2H 2018.
