Technip FMC JV inks Coral South FLNG EPCIC

Coral FLNG SA has awarded the TechnipFMC-led joint venture TJS Consortium an engineering, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning and start-up (EPCIC) of the Coral South FLNG facility offshore Mozambique.

TJS Consortium will also cover the project’s associated risers and subsea flowlines system, as well as the installation of the umbilicals and subsea equipment.

The floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility will be designed to produce close to 3.4 MTPA of liquefied natural gas and will be moored in 2000m of water depth in the Area 4, offshore Mozambique.

Partners in the TJS Consortium include TechnipFMC, JGC Corp., and Samsung Heavy Industries.

Coral FLNG SA is a special purpose entity incorporated in Mozambique, owner of the FLNG facility and jointly owned by Eni Mozambique LNG Holding BV, CNODC Mozambique BV, ENH FLNG UM, Galp Energia Rovuma BV, and KG Mozambique Ltd.

Eni sanctioned the Coral South FLNG project on 1 June, as the Italian company signed the drilling, construction and installation contracts.

Coral South will be the first FLNG project offshore Africa and the third FLNG facility globally.
