ConocoPhillips to use Maersk Gallant at Eldfisk

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has granted ConocoPhillips consent to use the Maersk Gallant mobile drilling facility for plugging and abandoning a production well at Eldfisk 2/7 A.

Eldfisk is an oil field lying due south of Ekofisk in 70-75m of water in the southern North Sea. Production began in 1979.

Mærsk Gallant is a jackup drilling facility, built at Far East Levingston Shipbuilding in Singapore in 1993. The facility is operated by Maersk Contractors Norge.
