BHGE Wins Subsea Award from Beach Energy

Tuesday, May 7, 2019

Beach Energy has awarded Baker Hughes, a GE company, a contract to supply subsea production systems for its Victorian Otway Basin brownfield development project located in offshore Victoria, Australia.

The Otway Basin is approximately 500 kilometers long from Cape Jaffa in South Australia to northwest Tasmania, covering both onshore and offshore.

BHGE said its contract was awarded in the first quarter of 2019 and includes medium water horizontal Xmas trees and associated subsea control Semstar5 systems, in addition to wellheads.

With this project, BHGE aims to demonstrate the benefits of Subsea Connect, a new approach BHGE launched in 2018 that brings together early engagement, advanced technologies, creative commercial models and digital enablement to improve project economics and certainty.
