Husky, CNOOC start up BD gas field

Joint operator Husky-CNOOC Madura has started first production from the BD gas field in Indonesia.

The BD gas field is in the Madura Strait in 55m water depth. It is being produced via an unmanned wellhead platform, a floating production, storage and offloading vessel and four production wells.

Currently, the gas field has two wells in production and its gas and condensate sales production is approximately 7200 boe/d. The gas field is expected to reach its designed peak production of about 25,500 boe/d in 2018.

Husky-CNOOC Madura is the operator of the production sharing contract the BD gas field. Husky and CNOOC each hold a 40%, with the remaining 20% interest is held by Samudra Energy.
